These King shocks are built and tuned around our long travel kit's. After countless hours of testing we have come up with the perfect valving for our kit that optimizes the leverage ratio and suspension motion. We also have specific reservoir hose fittings and hose length that are designed around our kit.
We also have different valving options depending on your shock setup. If you are going to run a secondary shock make sure you select the coil over for the secondary shock. When running a bypass shock we pull valving out of the coil over so they work better with a secondary shock.
If you are only going to run a single coil over we also have the option for a compression adjuster. When running a secondary shock you do not use coil overs with compression adjusters as the tuning is done through the bypass tubes on the secondary shock.
We recommend using a 650lbs spring for most applications however if your truck has a steel bumper, skids and a winch then the 700lbs rate is more ideal as less preload will be required to achieve the desired ride height.
